ABOUT US DSM Design Concepts, LLC specializes in providing superior interior design services to Senior Housing Facilities (Active Adult, Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Alzheimer’s Care, Adult Day Care), Long Term Acute Care Facilities, Dental Offices and Rehabilitation Facilities. DSM was established in 1993 with the purpose of providing professional interior design services with a personal attention to detail and care that is not found in larger interior design and architectural firms. Our commitment to our clients reflects the same commitment you have for your residents and patients. We know that the look of a senior living or healthcare facility or office immediately communicates who you are and the quality of care you provide. But, once in the door, your residents and patients demand more. They demand superior service and loving care. This requires functional, accessible and safe interior environments that will meet all their physical needs while also meeting your need for ease of maintenance. We invite you to contact us by e-mail or phone to learn more about how our services can specifically respond to your needs. We look forward to speaking with you soon.
Locally, Ms. McAskill serves as a voting member of the District of Columbia Building Code Advisory Committee (BCAC) and Chair of the Accessibility Subcommittee, representing the ASID Washington Metro Chapter. In recognition of her accomplishments in the area of accessible design and the design of interior environments for older adults, the ASID Washington Metro Chapter awarded Ms. McAskill the William L. Wilkoff, FASID Design for Humanity Award. Nationally, Ms. McAskill serves as the American Society of Interior Designers representative to the ADAGG Review Committee and the ANSI A117.1 Review Committee. Both are tasked with reviewing and improving the accessibility guidelines that architects, designers and contractors depend on to design and build homes and facilities that will meet the needs of anyone, regardless of their age or physical abilities. Ms. McAskill holds degrees in International Relations and Interior Design and is NCIDQ Certified and licensed to practice Interior Design in the District of Columbia. |
